Roy E. White

Independent Software, Inc.

Mr. White is the President of Independent Software, Inc.  He brings over over 20 years of professional experience in Information Technology and served as the President and CEO of Diverse Concepts, Inc. (DCi) prior to being elected as the President of Independent Software (IndSoft) after IndSoft’s acquisition of DCi in January 2020.  His superior leadership skills, collaborative work ethic, and attention to detail will provide continued growth for both IndSoft and DCi.  Prior to his successes with DCi, Mr. White served as Senior Consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton and Senior Network Analyst for Lockheed Martin.

Mr. White began his career with the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5 Non-Commissioned Officer) and working as a Personnel System Manager from 1999 to 2008.  During his time in the USAF, he completed several leadership and management courses that groomed him for his current position before receiving an Honorable Discharge with several prestigious medals of achievement.  He studied at American Intercontinental University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Networking in 2009 and an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration in 2008.  Roy completed several industry certifications and graduated from the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce’s Veteran Institute of Procurement (VIP) as well as the Small Business Association’s (SBA) Emerging Leaders program.

A respected voice in the Information Technology industry in Maryland, Mr. White is affiliated with a number of professional organizations; including the National Small Business Association where he serves on several councils advocating and representing small businesses with Local County, State (MD), and Federal lawmakers.  In 2015, Roy was also nominated for the prestigious Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award.  As a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, he was nominated and awarded by his peers as the Top 40 under 40 in 2017, which brought great recognition of his accomplishments.  Mr. White spearheaded DCi’s recognition and awards such as Baltimore’s Smart CEO Magazine’s Fast 50 Emerging Businesses (2017), three consecutive years as Baltimore Business Journal’s Top 50 Minority Owned Companies, and the Largest Veteran-Owned and Largest Minority-Owned business throughout the tri-state region from 2014-2017.

Looking toward the future, Mr. White intends to expand upon his expertise and continues to excel in his career and elevate IndSoft and DCi to become two of the most sought after businesses in the industry.
